What pupils practice
- Practice mental math with all four operations.
- Review the times tables from 2 to 10 and exact divisions.
- Work on doubles and halves.
- Learn to manage speed without giving up accuracy.
How to play
- Choose 2, 3 or 4 teams, the calculation to practice and the length of the race: 8, 12 or 16 spaces.
- After the countdown, each team answers on its pad or with 4 answer choices.
- A right answer moves forward one space. A mistake locks the team for 2 seconds.
- The first canoe to arrive wins and the podium appears.
In the classroom
For a fair race, turn on “Same series”: all teams get the same calculations, each at its own pace.
A good routine is one short race a day on the times table of the week. Then write the two or three calculations that caused trouble on the board.
Useful settings
- Addition and subtraction come in two levels: numbers up to 20, then from 10 to 99.
- The “Mix” button brings in all the operations.
- Custom questions let you use your own calculations.
